World Cup #3 Val Di Sole, Italy – Race Report

This past weekend kicked off World Cup round #3 in Val Di Sole, Italy.  Val Di Sole in English translates to “valley of the sun” and this past week/weekend didn’t let us down.  These are likely the hottest conditions I have experienced all year although I welcomed them after whats felt like a never ending spring and colder/more rainy season then normal.

I feel like I raced a pretty smart race and stuck to my pre-race strategy pretty well as the race played out.  You really had to respect the heat and the course this past weekend with Italy’s famous steep ups and very short lived downs.  I raced my own race pretty much right from the start and moved up from 7th to 3rd place by the end.

I’m pretty happy with how it went and this also moves me up to 5th place overall in the World Cup Standings.  Now that the first block of World Cup racing has concluded, I will head home for a entire month where I will start to prepare for the second half of the season and maybe throw a leg over my dirt bike once or twice….I will post pictures to follow!

Thanks to my many fans for your continued support and beleiveing in me.  Also a big thank you to my sponsors and my behind the scenes team…..  Trek Bikes, Pfaff | VW, Lululemon, WFP coaching, my team Trek Factory Racing and of course friends and family.

Enjoy the photos…
